| If SAR were a chocolate chip cookie, Special Forces would be the cookie. These
members are the folks that hit the ground running when a search is needed. Special Forces members
do most of the administrative work behind the scenes, cross train in a multitude of specialties, and
setup and provide training classes for all SAR members and units. |
 |
When a missing person report comes in to the Sheriff's Office, they in turn call us to identify
which members
and units may be required, and begin a callout of our members. |
| Search management members check the reports and the maps to see how to deploy our forces. |
 |
 |
A Command Post is setup near to the search area to oversee search operations, and members arrive for a pre-search briefing.
The Command Post is our communications link between the outside world and all members deployed on the search.
|
| If needed, calls go out for Mutual Aid assistance from other SAR and Emergency Service Agencies. |

| Come volunteer and be a part of the team. It is likely to be one of the best
decisions you will ever make. |
